Challenge
African cuisine sat outside the American mainstream palette, and there was no blueprint for moving past a niche audience into retail, catering, and consumer packaged goods. The products also carried unfair assumptions about health and accessibility.
Approach
A 360 degree expansion built to turn customers into advocates. Integrated paid, email, and content across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. Packaged CPG lines including frozen Moin Moin launched on Amazon and Amazon Business. Experiential activations including cooking classes, Bow Market, Taste of Ethnic Boston, and DAM FAM DAY. Media pitching, regional influencers, and partnerships with the Celtics, the New England Revolution, the Red Sox, Pfizer, and Google, alongside grants, accelerators, and pitch competitions.
Outcome
A boutique local grocer became an award winning brand recognized on national and global stages, with growth across revenue, audience, and retail footprint.
